Hi. So if you’re on this page, maybe you have read the pages at the end of my books and are curious about the hope I mentioned. Or maybe you’ve just stumbled here. Either way, welcome.
If you’re searching, wandering, feeling alone or purposeless-or maybe you just suspect there is something more-I want to encourage you to consider that the more you are looking for is Jesus Christ.
Just in case you haven’t read it, here is the short discussion at the end of Unintended Target (if you’ve already read this, just skip over to the next part):
YOU are loved by the God that created you. So much so, that He chose to send His son, Jesus Christ, to be born and to die an undeserved death, rather than be separated from YOU because of your sin. But Jesus did not remain dead. He rose on the third day, defeating death and, in doing so, defeated it for YOU. How? Because now, by accepting this gift of grace from God, death can no longer hold you separated from God. Instead, one day, death will just be the gateway for you to an eternity of peace in the presence of the God that made you. Not only that, but when you accept Christ as your Savior from the consequences of sin, He will be with you here. Now. And you will build a relationship with Him during your time on earth that will offer more hope, peace and purpose, even in the most difficult of times, than you could find anywhere else. This has been true for me and it can be true for you. No matter what you’ve done, where you’ve been, or how far you’ve fallen, God still holds this grace out to YOU. Please check out these scriptures that do a much better job of explaining this than I ever could: Romans 3:23; Romans 3:10; Romans 6:23; Romans 5:8; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 10:13; Romans 5:1; Romans 8:1; and Romans 8:38-39.
So what does this mean?
It means that true hope, eternal hope, is one decision away. Trust in Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for you which paid your sin debt. Confess your sins, repent and give your life to Him. Your life will never be the same and your eternity is secure in Him.
What then?
First, start getting to know Him. Pray. Read your Bible. If you don’t have one, many churches offer free copies. Get in touch with one near you and ask. The more you communicate with your God, the more you will know Him.
Second, connect to a church – a group of Bible-believing Christians that will support and encourage you. Life is hard and we all need this.
